About Lisa

Whether it was as a young person talking to a neighbor about the dangers of a particular life choice, or as a teen welcoming peers that were “different” into my own group of friends so that they had a sense of belonging, or counseling my peers who lived in difficult family situations, I would have to say I have always been a counselor.  As a result, it was only natural that I followed that passion honing it into a career that helps adults of all ages find their own potential and strengths and to give them the freedom to celebrate who they are.
I prefer to walk with the individual on this journey using approaches such as CBT, Narrative Therapy, Brief Supportive Therapy as well as EMDR for trauma. I have a passion for working with those dealing with grief and end of life issues as well as depression, anxiety and sorting through life transitions.

I am a graduate of Bridgewater State College (now University) with a Master’s in Social Work.  I have worked for 7 years in hospice settings which included grief work, care giver support and assisting those with terminal diagnoses to determine how to live their final days. In addition to this I have worked in community counseling settings becoming the clinical manager of Arbour Counseling in Fall River leaving there to work in my own practice for 4 years.

Description of Specialties:
Working with individuals and families across socio-economic backgrounds to adjust to life transitions and trials. Specializing in grief work and end of life issues, trauma, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, life transitions and medical challenges.
